Remarks on media anthropology
The author presents a summary of the current Polish media research. He points to areas covered by sociological, historical and cultural studies, devoting particular attention to media anthropology research. The approach focusing on media anthropology allows him not only to answer the question about media texts as such and about their influence on the recipients — consumers of media messages; media anthropology also offers an opportunity to learn what the consumers do with media texts, how they utilize them, how and what for they use them. The text contains numerous theoretical examples of the existing research in this area.
